Renault 4 Savane 4×4 Concept, making its global debut on May 19th at the 2025 Roland-Garros tennis tournament in Paris.
While the Savane maintains the familiar shape of the modern Renault 4, it’s been toughened up with bold styling cues: chunkier wheel arches, glossy black bumpers, and a higher ride height give it a more adventurous stance.
It’s finished in a unique Jade Green paint, complemented by a pixel-patterned roof fabric that blends digital aesthetics with outdoor gear inspiration. New 18-inch Savane wheels wrapped in Goodyear tyres and a 15mm suspension lift add to its off-road credentials.
But the changes go beyond looks. Renault has equipped the Savane with a second electric motor on the rear axle, giving it permanent all-wheel drive. This showcases the versatility of the AmpR Small platform (formerly CMF-B EV) and its potential for more capable EVs.
Exact power figures haven't been confirmed, but the standard front-wheel-drive Renault 4 offers either 118bhp or 148bhp. With dual motors, the Savane 4×4 could approach a combined output of 300bhp making it a compact yet capable electric explorer.
Alongside the 4×4 Savane, Renault is also presenting the Renault 5 Roland-Garros special edition a limited-run hatch expected to be priced under £30,000 and the striking Renault 5 Turbo 3E, a rear-wheel-drive EV that looks like a concept car but is fully road-legal, with a price tag of £135,000.
Although Renault hasn’t confirmed production plans for the 4 Savane 4×4, the concept clearly signals the brand’s interest in bringing a more rugged, all-terrain flavor to its compact EV lineup. Given current market trends, a production version may not be far off.
